Tim's condition on May2

Due to the 1 st confirmed swine flu case in Hong Kong, the hospital canceled its 12-1pm visiting hour and a maximum of 2 visitors are allowed for each patient during the 6-8 pm visiting period. Last night, my sister and I went to see Tim in the Intensive Care Unit. The nurse told us his clotting was not that good. There was mild bleeding around the hole in the middle of his neck and he would be given the platelet transfusion. He was conscious but his responsiveness was very low. He looked like mumbling to himself, however, it's a consequence of the high ammonia level in his body. Even though Tim could not respond to our questions, we talk to him as usual, telling him what's going on in the "outside" world. We also gave him physiotherapy trying to stretch his legs and arms so that his ligaments would not be tightened for his immobility. Tonight it will be my mom and dad's turn seeing Tim. Going to the hospital and seeing my brother is my rountine and I now find it a bit sad of not being able to keep it up. I will be home waiting for mom and dad and your news.
